"ATEX" is a European regulation for security in explosive areas. There are also similar regulations outside the EU, such as IECEX International or NEC 500 in the USA, which also ensure that devices and work environments are safe to avoid explosions.
Zone: gas
In ATEX regulations, "gas zones" refer to areas based on their explosion risk by gases or vapors:
- Zone 0 (1g): Explosive atmosphere is almost always available.
- Zone 1 (2G): Explosive atmosphere can occur during normal operation.
- Zone 2 (3G): Explosive atmosphere rarely occurs and then only briefly.
These zones help to determine suitable security measures and devices for every risk level.
Zone: dust
There is also an ATEX zone division for areas with risk of explosion through combustible dust:
- Zone 20 (1d): An area in which flammable dust is constantly or frequently present as a cloud in the air.
- Zone 21 (2D): An area in which combustible dust in the air can occasionally form under normal operating conditions.
- Zone 22 (3D): An area in which flammable dust in the air normally does not appear or only occur for a short time.
This division helps to determine suitable protective measures for areas with a risk of dust explosion.
Methan & hydrogen
"M+" and "H2" in ATEX codes show that equipment can be used safely with methane (M+) or hydrogen (H2). As a result, these devices are particularly suitable for use in environments such as hydrogen filling stations or in mining, where methane or hydrogen are specific risks.
Zündt temperature
The linen temperature such as "T150 ° C" or "T4" shows the maximum surface temperature that a device can reach without causing an explosion. "T150 ° C" means that the device is safe up to 150 ° C, and "T4" stands for a safe limit below 135 ° C.
The lower the zündt temperature class, the lower the risk that the device ignites an explosive atmosphere.
"The Supahero handlamp of KSE light has inspired our squad. We used a heavier model and the difference is enormous. You can only notice how stressful the old weight was when you use this light lamp. Its handiness and comfort are great . A big win for our work. "
In our pit indispensable, the helmet lamp offers impressive brightness and security. It could be a little easier, but highly recommended.
"I'm really impressed by the LED mamba. It brings so much light that we can illuminate our corridors and rooms with just one lamp. Have three out of the 25 meters and are fully satisfied. No matter where we work, the Mamba Tag hell.
"Broken down and distributes a class, even light in the whole room.
